APW - E Howard & Co, Boston, series XI split-plate adjusted, L-S (just over 15S), heavy 14K Dubois original HC with ET gold cuvette, this form of 4-D trademark registered to Dubois Watch Case Co of Brooklyn in 1906, SW-SS, WE-SSD, lever escapement, 17J, GJS, parallel dividing-line pattern NI damascene, s#600188. Gross weight of assembled watch 73.2 dwt (113.9 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running with escapement noise, something hitting especially at 12-up, fine mvt condition overall, needs OH; dial has crack to internal corner above 5, hls at 2:30 and 4:30; hands excellent; latch is good but slow to move, one has to back-wind for the latch to fully engage the cover, an internal lubrication issue; case shows little wear, some MFS and scuffs, no dents or dings, monogram detail with reduced edges; bow tight, gradually thinned, crown shows light wear and incipient break; good glass crystal.
